About PAIC
The PAIC is a coalition of six environment, climate and agricultural non-governmental organizations working in Palestine - (Agricultural Development Association (PARC), Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), Palestinian Hydrology Group (PHG), Land Research Centre (LRC), MA’AN Development Centre, and the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ). The PAIC organizations have decades of experiences in the Palestinian, regional, and international context in the field of community development, natural resources management, agriculture, environment, water, human capacity building, good governance and accountability as well as risk and crisis management.
Agricultural Development Association (PARC): A national developmental organization that strives to develop the agricultural sector, strengthen the resilience of farmers, reach out to the poor and marginalized groups and their CBO’s, mobilize and develop the capabilities of rural people to enable them to control their resources, through the work of a distinguished professional teams and loyal volunteers.

Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC): is registered as a non-governmental agricultural organization and it is considered as one of the largest agricultural development institutions in Palestine as it was established in 1986 by a group of agronomists. UAWC is an independent agricultural developmental organization, politically neutral as per its by-laws, policies, vision, mission and practices. UAWC abides, and is guided by the national sectorial strategies and policies as well as the international laws and standards set by the UN’s Security Council and General Assembly resolutions that focus on Palestinian rights of freedom, development, and decent life on their land that is recognized as “Occupied Territories”.

Palestinian Hydrology Group (PHG): Founded in 1987, the PHG is a nongovernmental organization and an independent specialized institution dedicated to develop and protect the water and environmental resources; to insure more public accessibility to adequate water supply sources and sanitary conditions; and to develop a proper information systems and technologies including GIS.

Land Research Centre (LRC): was established in 1986 as a branch of the Arab Studies Society headed by Mr. Faisal Alhusaini . It is an independent , nongovernmental, non- profit Palestinian organization whose activities cover areas of the West Bank (including Jerusalem) and Gaza Strip. The main objective of LRC is to protect and promote the use of Palestinians land in addition to developing the Palestinian agriculture and expertise through conducting researches and studies as well as producing publications on the issues of land and agriculture, maintaining full linkage in shape and content between Arab Jerusalem and the remaining parts of the occupied Palestinian territory, . LRC works for the restoration of collective popular action with the aim of preserving land an agriculture, with the emphasis on the prominent role of women in these areas.

MA’AN Development Centre: MA’AN Development Center is an independent, non governmental, non partisan Palestinian development and training institution established in January,1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.

The Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ): ARIJ is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 and dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the occupied Palestinian territories and the self-reliance of the Palestinian people through greater control over their natural resources. ARIJ works specifically to augment the local stock of scientific and technical knowledge and to introduce and devise more efficient methods of resource utilization and conservation, improved practices, and appropriate technology. ARIJ also plays an active role in the local community as an advocate for greater co-operation among local institutions, international and non-governmental organizations and frequently provides current data and research necessary to the formulation of position papers and policy strategies on such issues as land and water resources. Moreover, through its work with donor institutions and regional and international experts, ARIJ promotes an environment conducive to the introduction of new initiatives and ideas and thus serves as a facilitator in the co-ordination of multilateral activities.
